Hi again folks! This time it's back to the advice. The saying as I recall it is Fame and Fortune or if you prefer, Sales and Marketing. There is a lot of talk these days about the importance of social media and how it has revolutionized the business world and truth be told it has but not for the reason most people think. There is another old saying that used to just apply to women and dating. It was " Why should they buy the cow if they can get the milk for free? "
Originally this was intended to illustrate that women should "save themselves for mairage" and not be so promiscuous as to be seen as undesirable as a life partner. I look at this as a business concept too. Think about it, If you make all your services freely available through You TUBE or Facebook you are not only devaluing the service but you are literally giving those companies the right to give your services away free of charge forever so you never make a dime. For the record, after a 41 year career I can state with certainty that marketing is the fame side of the business. Marketing gets your name out there and gets you noticed but never makes you a penny! IT IS NOT DESINED TO GENTERATE REVENUE FOR YOUR BUISNES! THAT'S WHAT SALES EXSIT FOR! A sale is the act of exchanging value. your valuable products and serves in exchange for an agreed upon amount of value representation. Sometimes this is monetary compensation. Some times it is products exchange ( Ie: sell $50,000 of product you get a new car.) this is the Fortune side and if you notice Sales comes first in the business version because it is entirely possible for the whole world to know who you are and yet still die poor!
